WHAT IS 001?
001 is an art gallery for app icons. See about for more information.
WHAT ARE CREDITS?
Credits are the virtual currency in 001. They are used to purchase art and are earned by selling art. 100 Credits = $1.
HOW DO I PURCHASE CREDITS?
Credits may be purchased within the app, using Apple's In-app Purchase. Credits purchases are non-refundable.
CAN I WITHDRAW CREDITS I'VE PURCHASED?
No, purchased credits are not withdrawable. Only Earned Credits (e.g. earned by artists selling copies) are eligible to be withdrawn. You may only spend purchased credits within the app, to rent exhibits or purchase art copies.
HOW DOES 001 MAKE MONEY?
001 makes money like any other gallery or auction house — it takes a commission on the sale of each art copy. There are two fees collected by the gallery in each transaction: the artist commission (a percent of the nominal art price), and a buyer's premium (a surcharge paid by the buyer). Currently, 001 charges a 25% artist commission and a 10% buyer's premium.
For an art copy priced at 1,000 Credits, the buyer would receive 750 Credits, the seller would pay 1,100 Credits, and 001 would receive 350 Credits.
001 also charges for exhibit rentals, but this is primarily for market incentives and not revenue. Consider it similar to a land value tax.
I PURCHASED AN ART COPY. WHY CAN I NOT SET IT AS AN ICON?
After an art piece is approved, there is a short delay before it is available to set as an icon. This may delay may span a few days. Each newly approved piece requires a new app version to be released, which causes this delay.
ARE ARTWORKS ON 001 NFTS?
No, art on 001 is not NFTs. Authenticity and ownership data is managed by 001's servers. Works have no meaning or value outside of the app's context, so NFTs are not needed.
HOW DO I LIST MY ART?
To list art, you must own an exhibit. If one is available, you can rent directly within the app. Upon purchasing an exhibit, you will be able to draw art and set its title, price, and number of copies.
WHAT ARE THE ART SUBMISSION GUIDELINES?
All art on 001 must be reviewed by the gallery before publishing. Art pieces must meet the following criteria (subject to change, all rejections are at the discretion of the gallery):
- Minimal creativity. Simple stick figures, shapes, or other "de minimis" works will not be accepted.
- Original content. Derivative or infringing works will not be accepted. Artists must hold creative rights for all content that they submit, and infringing works will be taken down upon rightsholders' request. Additionally, submitted art must be originally created for the 001 app - reuse of past published works, even the artist"s own, is not allowed.
- Explicit content is not allowed. Crude sexuality, NSFW language, slurs, racism, etc.
- Art must not mimic the icon of another app, even if the creator owns the rights to the other app. Apple does not allow this.
Prospective artists may email info@001.graphics with any questions or inquiries about approval.
DO ARTISTS MAKE MONEY?
Artists can earn USD selling art on 001. To do this, they must join the Verified Artists Program, which is subject to approval and completion of KYC requirements. For every art copy that an artist sells, Earned Credits are transferred to the artist's account, net of gallery fees.
HOW DO I WITHDRAW MY EARNED CREDITS?
Once approved, artists may initiate a withdrawal within the app, from their profile page. Withdrawals are subject to weekly limits and minimum amounts.
CAN I SPEND EARNED CREDITS WITHIN THE APP?
DO I HAVE TO DRAW ART WITHIN THE APP, OR CAN I UPLOAD A PIECE CREATED ELSEWHERE?
CAN I SELL MY EXHIBIT TO SOMEONE ELSE?
Selling exhibits is currently not possible, although we have plans to enable this in the near future.
